James is very passionate about photography and it shows in his work.  His creative ideas and artistic skills combine to create stunning portraits.  He pours himself into every photo session and delights in the moment he captures the essence and emotion of the subject. James and Lisa always make sure each session is as fun for the client as it is for them! Their congenial personality instantly makes people relax and feel comfortable. They truly enjoy working with all types of people and making friendships with whomever they meet.

James has extensive travel experience photographing all around the world.  He has photographed in: China, Russia, Brazil, Chile, Trinidad, Tobago, and Australia. James has studied photography and imaging under some of the most acclaimed photographers across the country. He is continually increasing his photographic knowledge and learning new techniques so he can stay on the cutting-edge and provide excellent results for his clients.  

James and Lisa Dockery have owned and operated Running Studio since 1991. They’ve been happily married for almost 20 years and have two beautiful daughters. James has a Bachelors degree in Video Production and has over 20 years experience in video.  He has over 25 years experience in Photography and was shooting weddings professionally while in High School!

Beth Carver has been with us for nearly 10 years and is a vital part of the studio.  She takes care of all the scheduling, sales, customer service and portrait deliveries. You’ll even find her assisting in the camera room from time to time! You’ll be won over by her friendly and warm personality.
Our Studio consists of a reception area, waiting room, bathroom, 2 dressing rooms and a camera room with state-of-the-art equipment.  Our camera room has hard wood floors and is equipped with a variety of automatic backgrounds and a Bose sound system (you can bring your favorite music for your session)!  We have all the equipment necessary to go on location if you’d prefer -you name the place and we’ll be there!
